Mt Hood Snowshoein' and other well-loved photos

After a desperately wrong turn, rescuing a dog in a snow-well, and perfect Fritos and hot cocoa at the resting point where we finally acknowledged, "we really did take a wrong turn and an unnecessarily arduous climb in 15 feet of wet snow" - this is the group only steps from homebase. If the camera could capture it - you'd see a startling view of Mt. Hood at a bright sunset. Note that the dogs are in complete confusion as to where we are going and where to look.

This is Duke's customary station outside the house. He is scouting for squirrels, sitting like a rock until one provokes him into a fruitless run and bark at the fence. The funny part about this is - it's SNOWING! It is never supposed to snow in Portland. You'll see that he made a dent with his tail, sitting there so long.

After too much fun in Yahtzee, we climbed the mountain of denim insulation that took up our entire dining room for weeks. Duke, the adventurer, joins me and Kate in our ungraceful muscle to the top! Actually, Kate looks perfectly poised... wench.

And just cause it's cool - GATOR!!

I bet he's bookin' it for a marshmallow in this photo. mmm big white sugar blob, good for wildlife!
